Lillian Sissom Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Lillian Marie Sissom, 66, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009.
Marie was a native of St. Louis, Mo., and was a Peninsula resident since 1978. She was an active volunteer with Relay For Life, and enjoyed singing Karaoke at RJ's Restaurant in Newport News. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
Marie was preceded in death by her son, Bruce W. Englert.
She is survived by three daughters, Dawn Rensing and her husband, John of Addieville, Ill., Michelle Taylor and her husband, Ricky of Gloucester, Va., Jennifer Hewitt of Newport News; Mary Lou Hadly of East Dublin, Ga., and Julie Gregory of Clovis, Calif.; a son, John Gregory (Michelle) of O'Fallon, Ill.; two brothers, John Sissom and his wife, Sandy of O'Fallon, Ill., Danny Heeter of Dunnellon, Fla.; and two sisters, Deb Gallagher of St. Joseph, Mich., and Jackie Gorman of Dunnellon, Fla. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Barbara Hauber (Scott) Theresa Taylor, John Rensing Jr. (Natalie) Jason Rensing, Kayla Rensing (Tony) Christopher Hewitt, Donnell Hewitt and Lara Jen Hewitt; and seven great-grandchildren, Draven, Lyric, Helena, Nicolas, Elizabeth, Anna and Brooke.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, in the chapel of Amory Funeral Home, Grafton. The family will receive friends following the service.

We had just a few years dear sister but packed them with a lot of love and memories. You have two of the most caring daughters I have had the honor to call my nieces. Some day we will be back together to sing the songs of our favorite, Patsy. Thank you for being my sister.

You will be greatly missed by many people, I know that you have a special place always in my heart. I will miss your smile, encouraging words and songs. I knew Marie for about 30 years, we use to go to country bars together and boy did she love to sing especially PATSIE CLINE songs she had such a great gift to be able to sing the way she did. Iwill miss her so much. We will miss her at RELAY FOR LIFE also. RJ'S has lost a good friend and a great singer. SWEET DREAMS MARIE I LOVE YOU AND WILL MISS YOU DOT
