Lois HOOKER Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Lois Hooker went home to be with our Lord on Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at the home of her daughter, Sylvia Hogge.
Lois, affectionately known as "Granny" was a member of Denbigh Baptist, Mitchell Point Road, where she was always spiritually uplifted by the singing of her pastor, David Wilson. Her strong spirit will live on in all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; and her son, Duane.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Sylvia Hogge (Gene) and Deborah Whiting; her five grandchildren, Audra, Marquis, Brandi, Darnell and Fonya; along with her nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at Weymouth Funeral Home. Family and friends of the family should arrive and be seated by 9:45 a.m. Interment will be private and at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Denbigh Baptist Church Mission Fund Memorial, 13010 Mitchell Point Road, Newport News, VA 23602.
