Marconi DAWSON Obituary
He was born on Oct. 23, 1940, to the late Roy J. and Martha (Griggs) Dawson, in Beckley, W.Va. Marconi taught in West Virginia for many years and taught for several years at James Blair Junior High School, now known as James Blair Middle School in Williamsburg, Va. He was a dedicated member of New Beech Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 49 years, Brenda; sons, Marconi Edward of Newport News, Va., Mancel Howard (Dana) of Newport News, Va.; brother, Roy J. Dawson Jr. (Sylvia) of Franklinville, N.J.; sister, Scarlet L. Dawson, of Owings Mills, Md.; grandchildren, Gianna, Marcus, Avery, and Jayden; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at New Beech Grove Baptist Church, at 326 Tabbs Lane, Newport News, VA 23602.

Brenda, I've had you and Mr Dawson on my mind a lot over the last month as I haven't seen you at VOA. When I went in today, I asked about Mr Dawson and they told me he had passed. I'm so sorry for your loss. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I loved Marconi !! He was one of the only people who was kind to me when I moved to Wsbg and first started teaching in 1979 at James Blair. I will never forget him or his kindness. Also, our birthdays are both Oct. 23. May God bless you and the family and may the peace that only Jesus can provide be with you now and in the coming days.

To Brenda and the entire Dawson Family,
I was saddened to hear of Marconi's passing. I have not seen Marconi in several years and often wondered how he was. Marconi and I taught together for many years at James Blair Junior High. We were truly a family there and I have fond memories of our days teaching there. Brenda, I always think of you and Marconi when in West Virginia and see those Beckley, WV signs. He loved WV and he loved you and your boys. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. May God Bless your family.

Hello Aunt Brenda..Im sorry to have you hear from me on such a sad occasion. I wish I could have been around more often and also wish Uncle Marconi could've gotten to know my kids. I know that GOD does everything for a reason so im not upset, a little sad but not upset! I will continue to trust the LORD and know that his will is his will!
