Mary GIBBS Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Mary Lee Gibbs, 87, departed this life on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Warwick Gardens located in Riverside Convalescent Home in Newport News.
She was a native of Brunswick County, N.C. She was a retired telephone operator (30 years) from New York Bell Telephone Company.
She is survived by a son, Ronald Gibbs and daughter-in-law, Crystal Gibbs of Suffolk, Va.; and a daughter, Jacqueline Corbitt of Springfield, Mass.; a brother, Alex James of North Carolina; two grandsons, Courtland and Jordan Gibbs of Newport News; a great-grandchild, Jussi Johnson Gibbs of Newport News; a cousin, Rudy Perkins of New Haven, Conn.; dear friends, Herbert and Nannie Settles of Norfolk, Va., and a host of other friends and acquaintances.
There will be a graveside funeral at 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2010, at Peninsula Memorial Park on Warwick Blvd. in Newport News, Va. Internment will follow graveside service. The repast will occur at the home of Ronald and Crystal Gibbs, 214 Bridgewater Court in Suffolk, Va.
The family would like to extend a personal thank you for your support during our time of need. God bless everyone who extended words or acts of kindness.
