Michelle BANFIEL Obituary
She is survived by her husband of 10 years, Roland Banfiel; daughter, Hannah Banfiel; parents, Frank David and Lisa Ward; sister, Kaylen Ward; and three grandparents. Also surviving are her in-laws, John and Cindy Banfiel; Robert Banfiel and a host of cousins, aunts and uncles.
A celebration of Michelle's life will be 3 p.m. Saturday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home in downtown Hampton by Pastor John A. Downs.
The family wishes expressions of sympathy to take the form of contributions to the Peninsula SPCA, 523 J. Clyde Morris Blvd, Newport News, VA 23601.

I know with life, we all take our roads. And being that I am military I just found out the hardest way that my best friend growing up passed. I am truely sorry to hear about your loss.She will always be remembered in my heart. I remember long nights sitting up playing Rummie and calling Z104. The good times when we where young. I can't imgine the loss of a child, or spouse. I have experienced the loss of many. May time and family and well-meaning friends help you through this time of sadness and loss.

What I remembered the most was your smile. The nights you walked in the cold just to visit for an hour. The nights we sat up late and just talked. And how you got us to have family nights. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.
THERE IS NO PAIN WORSE THAN THE PAIN OF LOSING A CHILD. IT'S NOT RIGHT FOR A PARENT TO OUTLIVE HER CHILD.
I'm sorry to say I understand the pain in your heart, your head ... your disbelief, then acceptance, regrets, and tears. I'm a good listener, cause I've been there. If you need to talk, or anything else, please call me.
I believe I will see Ben again.
I also believe that Michelle is at complete peace, and you will see her again as well...in God's good time.
Until then, I pray you all can find comfort in remembering the good times.

I have moved away but Michelle and I have kept in touch through the years. I am truly and deeply saddened by the loss of her. She was a free spirit and kind through and through. I send my condolences to her family. Love you Chelle!

I remember when we were kids we would play house together. she would be the mom and kay and i were her daughters. it was a lot of fun. now we have all grown up and had real families of our own. I am truly sorry for the loss of michelle. she will be missed.

I have known Michelle since 3rd grade at Moton Elementary. Although time goes on and people grow apart, there was always the fact that we were both mothers to girls that kept us together. She is missed more than she ever could know.
