Norman A. HALL

GLOUCESTER - Norman Allen Hall, 80, died Oct. 2, 2010, at his home.
Norman was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. He served his country with distinction in the United States Army for 27 years. After retirement from the army he worked for the Postal System retiring from the Hayes Post Office. During his time in the army he received numerous medals to include the Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal (7th Award), National Defense Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster; Army of Occupation Medal (Germany) Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Commendation Medal with devise 60. Norman loved to fish and garden. He was a great gardener and grew wonderful tomatoes that he shared with family and friends. We have lost a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend of many years. He will be sadly missed.
His parents, Lester Hall and Ruby Pitts and daughter, Norma Leigh Hall preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Woodson Hall; children, Gloria Moses and husband, Fred, Michael A. Hall and wife, Wanda, Timothy "Tim" W. Hall and wife, Tanya, Anna-Maria Wall and husband, Roger; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services officiated by the Rev. Arthur L. Wolz Jr. will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment with military honors will follow in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
