Osborne BLOUNT Obituary
He was born on May 5, 1931, in Surry, Va., to the late Willie and Ruth Brown Blount. He was retired from Newport News Shipbuilding Co. in Newport News, Va. He was a faithful member of St. Paul Holiness Church, serving in the Deacon Ministry and member of the choirs.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 57 years, Mildred Parker Blount; his six children and their spouses, Helen Lovonne (Philip) Morton, Larius (Freddie) Blount Sr., Welton (Barbara) Blount Sr., and Carol Patrice (Timothy Sr.) Marsh of Surry, Brenda (Eldridge) Hill of Hampton, and Steven (Shauna) Blount of Havelock, N.C.; his 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and many relatives.
The family will receive friends on Friday at St. Paul Holiness Church from 6 to 8 p.m. Homegoing service will be held at St. Paul Holiness Church, Dendron, Va., on Saturday, June 5 at noon. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.

I was terribly saddened to hear about the lost of Mr. Blount (Mr. Buster). He was such a sweet and dear man. He had an infectious smile and a charm about him that was so indearing. He will be greatly missed in the community as well as in his immediate family. Please be comforted in knowing that he is with his Heavenly Father and that it is well with his soul. May the peace and love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ be with you in this time of sorrow but know also that Joy Comes in the morning.

It was such a shock when I heard the news. I will always have the memories from the wedding and from when we were putting the house up. He came over to discuss the color of our shutters because they were blue and he loved it. I am sure he is seeing all shades of his favorite color, all the songs/hymns that were dear to him, and much more. He will look down us from above. We must celebrate the life and try not to mourn the loss. Randy and I are 2 doors down, just call if you need anything.
