Peter BROWN Obituary
His mother named him "Gunn," and the name followed him all the days of his life. He attended private school his first four years of school eventually transferring to the Newburgh Public School System.
At the age of 12 his family moved to Hampton, Va., to be near his paternal grandparents. He graduated from Bethel High school and went on to attend Thomas Nelson Community College where he made the Deans list. He later moved back to Newburgh, N.Y., where he owned and operated various businesses.
He married Sharon Johnson in Newport News, Va., and to this union one son was born, Peter Drafel Brown Jr. This union ended in divorce and he later married Diana Rus and from this union four children were born, Najee, Andrew, Tea and Emmanuel.
He leaves to cherish his memories his parents, William T. Brown of Newport News, Va., and Katherine Best-Brown of Dumfries, Va.; his paternal grandmother, Florence Brown of Newport News; wife, Diana Rus-Brown; and four sons, Peter Jr., of Gainsville, Va., Najee, Andrew, Emmanuel; and one daughter, Tea all of Greensboro, N.C.; one granddaughter, Nevaeh Baker of Manassas, Va.; four sisters, Tiffani Brown-Martinez (Niacos) of Hampton Va., Stephanie Brown-Blackshear (Louis) of Dumfries, Va., Jocelyn Brown of Pittsburgh, Pa., Vonya Brown of Newport News, Va.; two brothers, Patrick Brown of Chesapeake, Va., Haru Ma'At El (aka Tommy) of Bronx, N.Y.; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, very special friend, Laura Lagano.

Gone but not forgotten. We had some good times at Bethel! I'll never forget his weird sense of humor! God bless those Peter left behind, but know that he made a mark in this world as a kind person, even in his younger years. Allow the peace of God to give you rest during this time.

I was looking for you at the 30th class reunion. I guess I will have to wait to see you at that celestial reunion. God bless your family and your legacy. I hold great memories of Bro. Peter Brown. As a young man he was in the choir at Faith Baptist. One of my favorite songs he sung was, "Somebody touch me" and "Hello Sunshine". He will be missed, may God continue to shine favor on the Brown family,
