Rhona RUCHALSKI Obituary
She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbur R. Welch; and her mother, Lois B. Dobler Welch.
Survivors include her husband, Brian A. Ruchalski; her son, Charles B. Ruchalski; her brother, Thomas C. Welch; her sister-in-law, Diane (nee) Hahn; her nephew, Bradly Welch and his wife, Christie; and her niece, Shelley Welch.
The family will receive friends and neighbors at the residence from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 25.
In memory of Rhona, contributions may take the form of donations to the Animal Aid Society, 8 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA 23666; Peninsula SPCA, 523 J. Clyde Morris Boulevard, Newport News, VA 23601; or The Salvation Army.

I just heard tonight of Rhona's passing and was very sorry to hear of it. I first met her when she helped me fix my antique car after I broke down in front of her house back in the late '80's. She was a geat neighbor and a great instructor at TNCC where she encouraged me to take some classes so I could fix my own car. I'm sure she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

We are deeply saddened by Rhonda's passing which we learned of this morning. We will remember and cherish the memories of the times we spent together. We are with you during this time of grief. The Ericksen family loved our old neighborhood in Hampton. The Ruchalski's were the best neighbors anyone could ask for. Countless times we would knock on the door and ask for advice or just a cup of sugar. I never got enough of either! Rhona was always there with open arms. Though we moved in 1999, I continued to visit the area with the Air Force. Rhona made some wonderful meals for me while I spent months away from home - such a sweet, caring person. Brian and Charlie, what wonderful memories we have of her; you are in our prayers.

Family of the Late Mrs. Rhona,
I met Mrs. Rhona two years ago when she was in the battle for her life. She began to get better and I did not get to see her again. I was consoled when I learned that she had gained another two years. She was such a sweet, kind and strong lady whom I will never forget.
May the Mrs. Rhona's legacy bring you comfort and peace.

Where do we start....Rhona is one of a kind and she will be surely missed, especially by our family. Unique, headstrong, a definite person. We love her for that. Brian and Rhona are like two peas in a pod and as he stood by her side, he gave her all the help, love and warmth that a husband and best friend ever could. Yes Brian, you as well as our family will miss this gal, but do remember she is at peace and pain free. We send our love and prayers to you and Charlie.
