Robert JACKSON Obituary

HAMPTON - Robert L. Jackson, known to his friends as 'Jack', departed this life unexpectedly on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010. A kind and friendly soul who was always ready to befriend anyone.
Robert was born to the late Robert C. and Helen E. Jackson. Jack attended Huntington High School and worked as a Drywall Hanger and at The Galleria Marketplace until an injury affected his ability to work.
Jack was preceded in death by one son, Mann Oakley; one brother, Troy Parker; and two sisters, Barbara Lloyd and Linda Chester.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Christopher Jackson of Newport News, Va.; daughter, Tina Jackson Carter (Brian); his sister, Gwendolyn Francis of Hampton, Va.; three grandchildren; four nieces; seven nephews; and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews and friends.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at St. James Deliverance Church, 5010 Jefferson Avenue, Newport News, Va.

Im sorry to here of your lost. I met Jack back in 2000 when he was living in Newport News and he was always a nice person. I still have a necklace he gave me all those many years for my bday. He will be missed.
