I am one of the many who walked through the doors at Walmart to be greeted warmly and as a friend by Robert. When he wasn't there the past couple of times I went in, I was afraid to ask, but I asked today. His warm smile will be missed. I know that Robert is with his wife--happy and complete. May his family find peace in knowing how many peoples' lives he touched.

Shirley, I don't know if you remember me from high school, but my mom and I looked forward to seeing your dad with every visit. When he retired because of illness mom always sent him little pick-me-up cards. You can find peace in knowing that your dad is greeting others at heaven's gate with that same sweet smile and a kind word for everyone he meets.
With thoughts and prayers for all of your familly,

I knew your father, Robert from Walmart. In the two years I have worked there, we talked every morning that we both worked. Seven or eight months ago, I told him that I was engaged to be married. Robert and I talked for a long time that morning. I won't ever forget what he said to me. He looked into my face and said "No matter how long you're married it's never long enough. Then he told me about his wife and best friend. Words of wisdom from a man who knew. He was a very special person and I'll miss starting a day by talking to him.

I've been searching for the words to express my sorrow on Robert's passing. Robert married my mother's sister, Mary, thus becoming my uncle Robert. Let me just say that I've never met a man more loving and devoted to the welfare of his family than Robert. To Shirley, Debbie and your families please take some comfort in knowing that your loss is our loss and all those that your Dad "greeted" along the way. Love always, Sandra and Ben Traynham

I enjoyed working with Bob at NNS many years ago in the ship repair areas. He was good to work with and always had an interesting view to share. God bless those left behind and heaven rejoice in receiving Robert.

I CAN HARDLY WRITE THIS AS THE TEARS COVER MY EYES. MAMA AND DADDY FULLBRIGHT WERE LIKE PARENTS TO MANY OF US GROWING UP IN THE 60'S. I LOVED TO VISIT THEM EVERY TIME I CAME HOME BUT HAVE MISSED TOO MANY CHANCES IN THE LAST FEW YEARS. I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HIS LAUGHTER, HIS SHOES IN HIS HANDS AS HE ENTERED THE HOUSE FROM WORK, A SMILE ON HIS FACE AND TOURING HIS GARDEN. HAVING BEEN THROUGH THE LOSS OF MY PARENTS AS WELL I KNOW THE PAIN AND TIME DOES HEAL BUT THE HEART NEVER FORGETS. HE WAS LOVED AND HE WILL BE MISSED. MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU ALL. I MISS TALKING TO YOU.

What a kind and wonderful man! I only knew him from Walmart and Robert always greeted me with such enthusiasm and only knew me as one of the regulars coming into the Newport News store. He didn't know a stranger. His smile was contagious! I pray his family will find peace during this sad and difficult time. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

To the Hancock family,
What a surprise to find out the sweet man that greeted us at WalMart was Debra's dad. I have know Debra, Butch, and Katie for a long time but never knew Mr. Fullbright was a member of their family. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you and I know your memories will keep him alive in your heart. May God give you comfort and peace in knowing that Heaven has another angel shining brightly!

I have known Robert for at least 13 of the years he worked as a greeter at Walmart. I took my mother and my friend Juanita to the grocery store every thursday. My mother passed in 04 and Juanita moved to Gloucester with her daughter but Robert always asked about them when I saw him at Walmart. He always talked about his daughters and his wife whom he missed constantly. Robert had so much love in his heart for everyone he met that most people felt it and returned that love. He was a gracious man. I saw Robert about 2 months ago at the York county Walmart and though you knew he was ill he had that same glowing spirit we always loved about him. I am not as sad for Robert as I am for his family and that includes all of us that he took into his heart. Robert is now reunited with his best friend and wife whom he never stopped missing. Fairwell Robert God knows what a blessing you were to those you knew and loved. You will be missed.

Mr. Robert will be sadly missed. He was my "smiling rainbow" whenever I came into Walmart. He had a love for life and people. I'm grateful and blessed to have befriended him. Although it's sad to hear of his passing, I know he was in pain for awhile. It was time for him to rest. He made a difference in my life. He allowed me to see that no matter what obstacles in life, you can always keep a smile. It's such a wonderful gift. God truly smiled on me when he introduced us. I pray God's peace upon the family. He's finally home in the Father's arms probably asking to be a greeter at the Heavenly gates. (smile) He will be missed by many.
