Roma DRYDEN Obituary
She was an RN for Dr. John Quarles for many years, and a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Poquoson, and an active member of her Sunday school class.
Roma was preceded in death by her parents, Corinne and Keever Lewis.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Freeman Dryden; a son, Ryan Dryden of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Christy Firth and husband, E. T. of Poquoson; two grandchildren, Christopher Crawford and Janel Morgan both of Poquoson; a great-grandchild, Zachary Morgan of Poquoson; a brother, Charles Lewis of Wilmington, N.C.; a sister, Norma Hill and husband, Edward of Wilson, N.C.; and beloved cat, Missey #2.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. today, Dec. 5, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 12:30 p.m., by the Rev. Dr. Bill Wash. Private burial will be at a later date at Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News.

EDDIE & I ARE SO SORRY TO HEAR OF ROMA'S PASSING. WE HAVE MISSED SEEING YOU BOTH SINCE WE LEFT POQUOSON FOR SURRY. WE ENJOYED ALL THE DANCES & FUNCTIONS WE ALL WENT TO AT THE PYTHIAN LODGE THRU THE YEARS/GOOD MEMORIES. OUR THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU & FAMILY.

We are sorry about Roma's passing, but it is what is planned for us. I will always remember Roma as the aunt that I thought she was (it was years before Keith learned that she was not related by blood!). Roma was a special woman that influenced many. You are in our prayers.
