Ruthe LUCKEY Obituary
Born in Knoxville, Tenn., in 1925, Ruthe was the daughter of Frank Bolt and Daisy Richardson. After graduating from high school, she moved to Hampton where she lived and worked for more than 60 years as a self-employed bookkeeper and small business owner and most importantly, as a devoted mother. She retired in 2003 and moved to Colonial Heights to live with her daughter.
Ruthe was named ABWA's Woman of the year in 1973 and was listed in the Blue Book of Tidewater in 1981.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Rufus Cobb and Billy Luckey; brother, Frank Bolt Jr.; sister, Mildred Askew; nephew, Timothy Askew; and niece, Teresa Boggs.
Ruthe was the beloved mother of Tina Luckey and Michael Luckey. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Denice Luckey; nieces, Debra Martin and Katherine Yocum; and nephews, Edward Askew, Jack Askew, Martin Askew and Jerry Askew Sr.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home in Hampton.

Mike and Tina. I am sorry I did not get to know your Mother well. She is a very special person to me becuase she brought into the world a son who became a very important part of my family and Denise (My daughter) life and for that I am eternally grateful. May you rest in peace and God Bless.
