I met Sharon four years ago when I began working at the Williamsburg Inn. I was utterly clueless when I started but Sharon took me by the hand and taught me so much about the hospitality business, and even more about being a good, kind and patient person. I am so sad, so very sad to hear of her passing.
I have nothing but wonderful, pleasant, smiling memories of her. My deepest sympathy to you all

I was very saddened to hear of Sharon's passing. She was always so nice and had a smile that could light up a room. She will be greatly missed by many. I pray that her family finds peace in their fond memories and also pray that God helps to ease their sorrow.

Sharon was an inspiration to all that knew her. Her dignity and calm could not match anyone. She would sometimes meet my family at Dinos with Chuck and would always entertain us with her humor and wit. We even made ourselves elves last year! She will be greatly missed by all-please know that the entire family is in our thoughts and prayers.

As a bellhop working at the Williamsburg Lodge, many years ago now, I remember dreaming of a chance to talk to the server in our bar lounge just across from my station in the hotel lobby; someone I determined was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen in my life: Sharon. Fortunately, in time, I became her friend and discovered she was even more beautiful in spirit.
Since I learned of Sharon's death, I keep thinking of her, and I have a collage of memories.
Once at Sharon's instigation, we orchestrated the rescue of a cat living feral on the grounds of the hotel; a beautiful cat she had named "India." However, India did not abandon the "hotel life" to which she had become accustomed willingly, as morning and night the staff from different departments dished out for her pure cream from the kitchen, usually accompanied by the finest meats from banquets: cuisine often prepared for the heads of state or the masters of finance meeting there in conference.
This, however, was actually only the latest of many "kitty rescues" Sharon had conducted; each one having successfully led to the once feral cat's restoration to polite society and warm homes. India happily lived out her days on Gwynn's Island.
My friendship with Sharon is otherwise encapsulated by the memory of riding shotgun in her famous metallic blue Jeep, the roar of the engine and the wind blowing through the soft vinyl top as we drove up and down the Peninsula, trying to talk about life over all the noise in the cabin.
It breaks my heart that I will not have the chance to spend such time with her again, and foolishly, I believed there would always be more time.
I take heart in learning of her faith, and I share the hope that all of us who loved Sharon will be with her again in Paradise.
My prayers are with all her family and loved ones.

Sharon's warm smile, natural beauty and friendly grace gave light and substance to any room and any life she entered. That remains through the day's sunlight and the stars at night.

Sharon was a beautiful, talented, capable young woman--full of life, love, and joy. I have known her since she was a tiny child. She fought courageously against Ewings Sarcoma. I pray that God will hold her close, no longer in pain. Her family and friends deeply grieve her loss, but pray that she is now at peace. My prayers are with her mother Jeanne, brother Rob, and sister Beth.

I first met Sharon in 1973 and have watched her grow into a beautiful woman with a deep devotion to her faith, family and friends. I firmly believe that she is not dead, but rather, she is asleep in the arms of Jesus. I look forward to seeing her again some day. Rest in peace my friend.
