Sim HAILEY Obituary

HAMPTON - Sim H. Hailey Sr., 81, who retired from Guardian Storage, was called home on March 23, 2010. He was born in Rockingham, N.C. on March 20, 1929.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Annie Hailey Sr.; wife, Bernice; son, Arnold; four brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by six sons, Sim Hailey Jr., (Wendy), Robert Mathews of Hampton, Va., William Mathews (Cynthia) of Suitland, Md., Kenneth and Kevin Hailey, Newport News, Va., Cory Walls of North Carolina; four daughters, Juanita Lewis (Arthur), Rosetta H Walker, Cassandra Hailey-Washington, and Markeyta Hailey, all of Hampton; one sister, Beatrice Hailey Swinnie of Florida; two sisters-in-law, Irene Wilkes and LaVerne Hill of Virginia; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 28, at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday, at the Chapel. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2010, at New Life Church in Hampton, with Pastor Arthur Rogers officiating. Family will assemble at 37 Aspenwood Drive, Hampton, by 12:15 p.m. on Monday. Interment at Hampton Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Sims my man I've knew for 18 good years... I'm so glad the Lord let him cross my path...we worked together until he retired... I remember when I used to walk through the warehouse and I used to shout out his name "SIM HALEY" and he used to shout back "HEY..HEY WHAT YOU DOING MAN WATCHU GONNA DO TODAY...
