Spencer BLANKS Obituary

GLOUCESTER - Spencer Exam Blanks Jr., 76, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010.
A native of Hampton, he had lived many places throughout the country before settling in Gloucester. A great lover of sports, Spencer played football for Hampton High School and played on the Fox Hill All Stars Fastpitch Softball team. A 32nd Degree Mason he was a member of Black Diamond Lodge in Washington state.
Survivors include his daughters, Joyce Ann Wright and her husband, Henry of Hampton and Jill Morgan of Washington; a brother, Vincent B "Chippy" Blanks and his wife, Betty of Gloucester; seven grandchildren, Jeromy, Henry, Jessica, Jordan, Morgan, Reilly and Tug; three great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Katie and Jeromy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Spencer will be terribly missed by his beloved dog, Opie.
The family would like to thank the staff and hospice nurses at Mizpah Health Care Center and Spencer's niece, Dana Hogge for the compassionate care shown to him during his time of illness.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, in the Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions chapel.

Chip and Betty- I'm so sorry for Spencer's passing. He was quite a quite a person! I'm so glad I got to know him!!!!!
