Suzanne ROBINS Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Born June 26, 1959, passed away on Dec. 8, 2009.
A letter from Suzi...
If you are reading this, I, Suzanne Kirby Robins, have passed from this life into the next on Dec. 8, 2009, at the age of 50.
Those who knew me well don't need to read a list of my accomplishments or interests. So in that light, I am writing all of my family and friends a love letter here today.
Not for the world would I ever choose to leave this Earth or the many fur babies, best friends, family and chosen family I have been so fortunate to have in my life. In the words of the Beatles, 'There are faces I'll remember all my life […] some have gone and some remain [...] in my life, I've loved them all.'
I pray with all my heart that this appears in the local paper later rather than sooner, but that's an ongoing negotiation with God just now. I will always treasure the love I share with you all. And the bonds of love (as I see them) cannot be broken just because I have passed beyond the veil.
You are all dearer to me than you can know. And I consider myself one of the luckiest people on Earth to know and love each and every one of you. I know we will all be together in the next world. But in the meantime, you must all promise to live healthy, happy, long lives. 'Til we meet again. I love you all, Suzi.
Suzi is survived by her sisters, Nicki Peet (Cary) and Judy McKeel; nephews, Frank Jordan (Laura) and Matthew Jordan; nieces, Samantha Dorr (David), Hagen Hicks (Jeremy) and Amy Jordan; her dear friends, Robin Arnao and Kelly Hurst (Frank Hyatt); her beloved 'fur babies' and many, many friends.
A celebration of Suzi's life will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Boulevard, Newport News. Family will receive guests beginning at 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to one of the following charities: Wildlife Warriors, Doris Day Animal League or The Otter Project. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.

Nicki, Judy, and Family,
I am truly sorry to hear of Suzi's passing and can only pray that she is in a better place, free of pain and suffering. She was an exceptional young lady with many talents. I have many fond memories of her from our friendship in high school and years after. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.

I worked with Suzi in the library system in one capacity or another for seventeen years before I left the job due to my own health problems. I just last week tried to find her online with the goal of getting together with her, as I found myself missing her, and was flabbergasted when Lisa Sadler sent me her obit. In all the years I knew Suzi, she was always a bright star: talented, upbeat, generous, loving, and so very bright.

I lost my own brother to cancer last year. I know Suzi would understand our being sad and missing her for a little while(and even maybe want us to just a bit ^_~ .)But I also know how much she loved her wonderful Dad and her Mom, as well as all her fur babies that had gone before her, and how happy she would tell us she is to see them all again. Her pain is ended, and ours will ease with time. I wish you all a peaceful holiday - maybe this snowfall is a balm for all of us. My thoughts & prayers are with you.

I also went to high school with Suzi and will never forget when she won the poster contest for “The Pinball Wizard” at the old Newmarket South Theater.

I will always remember Suzi Robins for her decency, her grace, her kindness. She was, to be sure, one of God's rare Earth Angels.

As a friend of Frank (Suzi's nephew) & Laura, I knew of Suzi the loving aunt. After reading her love letter to her family & friends, I now know of Suzi the wonderful lady with a heart full of love & a tender soul. My deepest sympathies & my prayers go out to all who were close to her. Surely Suzi will be missed by many.

Suzi was one of my best friends in high school. She was such a creative force, a talented artist, and an endless source of movie trivia. She will be greatly missed.

I was blessed to know Suzi. All those who met her were...she was a wonderful, loving, caring and compassionate individual that loved her family, friends and fur babies more than you could ever imagine. If I could have wished one thing for her in life, it would have been to not have had to fight that battle that she so bravely. But now that she gone, my wish for her is to dance with her daddy everyday like she did as a child. She was an angel to Mac, Tang, Minnie, Jet, Gab, Lilly and 2 other loving kitties. Now, she is an angel to us all. God bless her family and I pray to him for strength for Nikki, Robin, Samantha, and Frank during this tough time. I am sad to say that she is gone, but proud to say that she was my friend.

To Suzi's Family: I am so very sorry for Your loss. Suzi was a friend from high school, and I had not seen her in years.

I have fond memories of Suzi as a little girl. Nicki and I would take her to the beach and she loved to play in the sand -- resulting in a sandy, happy little toddler neither of us wanted to carry back to the car. We'd solve our problem by loading her into a big blanket and lug her back to the car -- Suzi giggling all the way. She was a bright and shining star and she will be missed by all of us. My heartfelt sympathy and condolences go out to her extended family, her beloved furry babies, and all of her many friends. I am honored to have known her.
