Tamara ROBERTS Obituary

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Tamara Lewis Roberts was born on Dec. 21, 1975, to Deborah Ann Lewis and Leon Marshall.
On Wednesday, May 26, 2010, God's Angels gently lifted and carried her home after a valiant and strong battle against Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Tam, to all who knew her, was a lifelong resident of Hampton and was a 1993 graduate of Kecoughtan High School. She attended Norfolk State University and the Alpha College of Real Estate where she received her Real Estate License. As with other aspects of her life, she loved the Real Estate Business almost as much as she loved her family, working for Rose and Womble, Nancy Chandler and Professional Real Estate Management. Tam also worked part-time at the Boo Williams Sportsplex and NGNN Apprentice Athletic Facility.
On Oct. 28, 2008, she was united in marriage to TSgt Eric W. Roberts (USAF). As a loving devoted military Wife and Mother, she left Hampton and was stationed with her family at Bolling AFB located in Washington D.C.
Tam loved life and had a quiet, yet strong determination along with a sweet spirit. Her trademark beautiful and infectious smile would light up any room. She absolutely loved her family and leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband, Eric W. Roberts; her three beautiful daughters, Natalie LaNae, NaKyla Lynnette, and NaKia Renee; her loving mother and father, Deborah Lewis Richardson and Jeffery Richardson Sr.; her sisters, Teri R. Lewis, Tracey V. Robertson and Chanece Lee; her brother, Jeffery Richardson Jr. (Anna); and her beloved grandmothers, Margaret L. Lewis and Mary Richardson, all of Hampton. She also leaves to cherish her, mother-in-law, Sharon H. Roberts; sister-in-law, Ayana N. May (Otis); and brother-in-law, Derrick D. Roberts (Gwen); and a host of loving uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, May 31, 2010, at Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home. The funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at Queen Street Baptist Worship Center, 98. N. Armistead Avenue in Hampton, Va., with the Rev. Anderson W. Clary Jr., officiating. Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens, Hampton, Va.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 11835 Cannon Blvd., Suite A-102, Newport News, VA 23606.
Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.

I want to convey my deepest sympathy to the family and specifically Mr. Roberts. TAM was always a person whose gentle nature had a calming affect when you encountered her. Please keep your head to the "sky'...as you know she is smiling down on all of you as she would often do......TAM was with us during the opening of the Nextel Hampton Activations center and was always a big help when needed. God will provide the strength and direction during this time.
