Thelma Archinal Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Thelma Scott Archinal, 89, passed away Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009.
Thelma was born in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. As an adult she lived in the following towns in Virginia: Bonn Air, Mechanicsville, Saluda and Urbanna, before moving to Zephyrhills, Fla., in 1986. She returned to Newport News in 2004. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Archinal; two sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Petey) Parker-Fite and her husband, James Fite of Dallas, Texas. and Amy Archinal and her partner, Myra Hidalgo of New Orleans, La.; one son, Trevor Archinal and his wife, Ouida Archinal of Yorktown, Va.; two grandchildren, Ashleigh Lewis and Brittany Rothe; and four great-grandchildren.
Special thanks to the Staff at Warwick Forest for their loving care.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at Resurrection Lutheran Church with the Rev. Hank Hollar and the Rev. Ben Dolby officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Southeastern Virginia Chapter of Alzheimer's Association, Att. Dear Amy, Trevor and Petey and families,
We are so sorry for your loss. Your Mom was a wonderful person and I have so many fond memories of her from 6th grade until I last saw her a few years ago. Please know that we are holding you all close in thought and prayer. I will see you at the service and look forward to celebrating her life with you all.
