Tommie IVORY Obituary
He was born Jan. 16, 1942, in Hardaway, Ala., to the late Sarah Dolman and Thomas Ivory. He moved with his family in 1949 to New Jersey. He met and married his wife, Jacqueline Ivory and they settled in Hampton, Va. He owned and operated Simplicity Cleaning Services there for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Ivory; his brother, James Ivory (Bobbie); his daughter, Cynthia (Peter); his sons, Patrick, Tommie Jr., Robert and Steven (Lisa); ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at the home of Mr. And Mrs. James Ivory at 630 Dorene Place, Newport News, Va., at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, 2010. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.

I cant believe your gone,absent from the body means present with the Lord. I loved you like a father. you were always a phone call away about anything i could always call you and jackie.YOU WILL BE TRULY MISSED! I could write abook about our adventure in life,but God knows you were a good Man did anything for anyone thats you..A great soul you had.the 27 years i knew you and you were always the same person.welcomed me and my family with open arms with a smile every time.you taught me everything

I worked with Tommie several years at Simplicity Cleaning, he was one of the nicest people I have ever know. Easy going, hardworking yet stern with his employees, they all still loved him. Tommie you will certainly be missed. My love and condolences to the family.

Tommie Ivory was my best friend actually he was family. I will miss his smile, our talks and him just being there for me as he always has been. He was a great and loyal friend to me as well as his wife Jackie. My prayers and thoughts go out to his children, he loved you all and was very proud of all of you.
