Virginia YURKEWICH Obituary

SEAFORD - Virginia Stevens Myers Yurkewich, 88, a lifelong Peninsula resident, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, after nearly three years residence at The Gardens of Warwick Forrest.
Mrs. Yurkewich enjoyed making crafts with her hands and playing Bridge with her many friends. She was Valedictorian of Morrison High School, class of 1939, and attended Mary Washington College.
She was preceded in death in 1961, by her first husband of nearly 20 years, Robert Amory Myers; and in 2002, by her second husband of 36 years, Alexander Victor 'Vic' Yurkewich.
Survivors include her two sons, Robert Amory Myers Jr., of Alfred, N.Y., and Steven Lloyd Myers of Freeman, VA.; a sister, Eleanor Stevens of Newport News; eight grandchildren, Blythe Myers of Richmond, Rob Myers of Atlanta, Ga., Holly Myers of Charlottesville, Lark Myers of San Dimas, Calif., Andrew Myers of Warrenton, and Robert, Cary, and Piper Chester, all of Alfred, N.Y.; and three great-grandchildren, Jackson, Katie, and Sammy Myers, all of Warrenton.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Sept.14, 2010, at W.J. Smith & Son Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow at noon, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Clarence W. Hilling officiating. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. Please leave online condolences at www.wjsmithandsonfh.com

i was saddened to hear of the passing of Virginia. She and Vick were our landlord for a number of years and they were great to work with. Miss Elenor I know you will miss her and I will be thinking of you always
