Vivian CREWS Obituary
She was a long time employee at Jack's Family Restaurant in Hampton.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Andrew (Boo) and wife, Nan; her daughters, Evie and husband, Jeff and Leigh and husband, Billy; her beloved grandchildren, Justin, Andy, Kimberly, Little Billy, Jeremy and Rachel; a great-grandson, D'Andre; and a long list of loved ones and friends.

I know in my heart of hearts that the Lord had Saint Peter & the Angels build a Jacks for all of our Jacks family!!When its my time to go I will gladly walk through those doors to be reunited with Dorene and all who have gone before me!!

Well, I've never really thought of myself as much if a writer, but when you have such a wonderful person to write about you can usually take ideas and just go with it. With that being said,there isn't a much better person to write about than my Nanny. There are so many wonderful things to say. I've always thought of Nanny as more of my other mom than a grandmother, an extension to my Mom I guess you could say.She has always been there to take care of me when I was not able and would never think twice of putting herself out to make sure I had better. She has always been there to give advice, help, love and very importantly she was one of my best friends. I am so very blessed to have had the relationship with Nanny that I did. Lot's of people my age hardly know their grandparents on a personal level like I do. So not only is she an awesome grandmother, but a best friend, one which can never be replaced.Sometimes I wish I could have came along earlier in her life, I know it would have been cool to know her back in the day. Some many of my favorite times in life have been spent with Nanny. I am so thankful for all of them. I only wish that I could have had you for a bit longer. High school life isn't always easy and I really wish I had you to talk to sometimes when things get tough, but no need to dwell on that. I know that you will always be in my heart and always be a part of me for however long I may live because you helped shaped the person I am today. So, for everything you have done I would like to say thank you. I love you, although words cannot describe how much I do. Well, I could go on and on about all the great times we had together, but there's no need. I know you know them all. So, I'll go ahead and finish I guess. I think of you everyday but I don't let your passing bother me. I know I will see you again sometime soon when we all get where we're going. I love you.

Dorene will be dearly missed. Everytime we saw her she was always smiling and made me feel warm inside. My heart and prayers go out to Leigh and Boo.

There are not enough words to express what you meant to me. You accepted me into your family, and your heart, and for that alone I will always love you dearly. Doreen, Willie & I had some great times together. She especially enjoyed going to Nags Head with us for the annual golf tournament in October. It was always around her birthday so that made it even more special. There's no doubt in my mind that Willie is teasing her and she's getting mad. But not to worry she'll be fine in a few. I definitely love my Doreen.

I didn't have the opportunity to know you too well, but I do remember you. Your service with a "SMILE", and a beautiful smile it was. I have, however, been blessed with the opportunity to know your daughter, Leigh, and I must say she is a beautiful person, inside and out. So I'm sure the apple didn't fall far from the tree. You will be missed and although our paths may not have often crossed in this world, I look forward to our paths crossing in the world you have now graced with your presence... My husband and I will miss "Miss Doreen" and always remember her when we hear a song by Patsy Cline or Leahann Rimes "Cattle Call". She was a very great lady.

Leigh and Boo, as I have so many wonderful memories of the two of you, I have just as many of your mother, from childhood right into adulthood and motherhood...she has been a part of my life as long as I can remember. I remember on Phelps Circle I was always welcome and as I got older she always had a smile and good advice and lots of love to give, and when I became a mother she always treated my kids when she saw them like they were her very own. She was truly a remarkable woman who gave everything she had to everyone she touched and while we are all mourning her loss here I am sure others are celebrating her arrival to the heavens because she truly is and always has been an angel.

You and Daddy wrote in my bible the day I was born and I still have it. It says, I am the light of the world and gods little angel to my mommy and daddy.Dated Feb 27,1968. Well you guys are the light of my world now and always. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. Ms. Dorene is gone but she will never be forgotten. She has touch alot of poeples lives and will continue to touch the lives of many people to come. With the stories that will come of the kindness and gentleness that came from your mother. I can remember a many of Saturday mornings going to Jack's and see your mothers smiling face, if you were having a bad start to the day it went out the door once you starting talking to Ms. Dorene. Leigh..Im so sorry to hear about your mothers passing.I talked to her a few times and she always talked about how her little daughter was groing up so fast.She loved you alot,always smiled when she herd your name..Shes in heaven with my parents and so many of her friends so know shes in a better place and we all will see her one day..she touched alot of hearts and we all will miss her..

Dorene is missed and thought of everyday! She was a kind and faithful employee at Jack's and is still in all of our hearts and her family is in all of our prayers! I miss you mom. You always had a way of making everything better.Things will never be the same without you. No we did not always agree or get along but the love we had was unbreakable.You were my best friend for as long as I can remember. Always there for me in good times & bad.The cool mom everyone called you. Wish my mom was like that they would say. Our door was always open to everyone and they always felt welcome. You always went to the beach and parties at my friends houses with me and I will remember all the time we spent together always.You are the best Nanny in the world. Don't know what I would have done without you when Justin was born and as he grew up.
