Walter HARTIGAN Obituary

HAMPTON - Walter Lloyd Hartigan, 93, born in Glasgow, Va., on April 28, 1916, passed away on Jan. 12, 2010, in Hampton.
He was WWII veteran with service in the European and North African Theatres.
Mr. Hartigan is survived by two sisters, Ollie Hartigan, and Ida Cooper; and a brother, Jim Hartigan; three sons, Andrew Hartigan of Hampton, Paul Hartigan of Seymour, Tenn., and Patrick Hartigan of Austin, Texas; stepdaughters, Brenda Kirkpatrick and Gayle Moore; stepsons, Wayne Batten and Ronnie Batten; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Hartigan and second wife, Alberta Hartigan; and a son, Mike Hartigan.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, Downtown Hampton with a memorial service to begin at the funeral home at 2 p.m.
