Wayne RICE Obituary
Wayne was born on Dec. 4, 1946, in York to the late Wade Milton and Sarah O. (Miller) Rice-Pittman.
He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Troy Rice of York and Wayne Rice III of Columbia, Pa.; four daughters, Dana Rice-Smith and Treva Rice both of York, Tara Rice of Lemoyne, Pa., and Angela Rice-Stevens of Columbia, Pa.; a stepson, William Hollman of Reading, Pa.; three stepdaughters, Michelle Owindiwu of Alexandria, Va., Sonya Crespo of Kentucky and Tamara Hyson of Lancaster, Pa.; three brothers, Marshall Pittman of Silver Springs, Md., Kenneth Rice of Middletown, Pa., and Richard Pittman of North Carolina; two sisters, Angiolina Wright and Joyce Jones both of Baltimore, Md.; a stepsister, Patricia Eggerton of New Castle, Pa.; 45 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Charles W. Pittman.
Mr. Rice was a graduate of William Penn Sr. High School where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame for Football & Track. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and he worked for 32 years as a machinist for Caterpillar Tractor Co. in York. Mr. Rice memberships include serving as Past Commander of the Charles E. Williams Post #794 American Legion & Lifetime Member, also a Lifetime Member of the V. F. W. Post #35 and a former member of the Brotherly Love Lodge #228. Mr. Rice had a great love for football and good food.
Services for Mr. Rice will be on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 629 S. Pershing Avenue, York, PA 17403. Viewing will be from 9 to 10 a.m. with funeral services following at 10 a.m., Elder Robert Cox will officiate. Asking that family meet at Boulding Mortuary, Inc., 471 Madison Avenue, York, PA 17404, at 8 a.m. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

To the Rice-Pittman family, there are some things I'd
like to say...but first of all, to let you know, that Bruce
arrived okay. I'm sure he would have written you from
heaven to let you know he‘s ok. There he’ll dwell with
God above.
We grow up together and had a crazy life as family and
friends. I know he knew about Jesus, but I wished I
could have shared the thought with him too. God had
a plan for him today and his job is well prepared.
Family or friend keep Bruce in your hearts. His memories are
to smile about and laugh about too. Yes there are many rocky
roads ahead and many hills to climb; but together you all
will make it though. My prayers are for you and the family today

You have my deepest sympathies,words are hard to say at this moment, and i still can't believe that Uncle Bruce is gone, i miss so much but just by knowing that he is now with his father and is no longer suffering makes it just a little bit easier to deal with.
