Wilda Jeter Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Evangelist Wilda Jeter entered into eternal rest on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009.
A native of New York, Wilda was born Jan. 22, 1927, to the late Leroy and Louise Saunders.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Paul, Billy and Marbley; two daughters, Darlene and Pamela; and one brother, Roland.
She accepted the Lord at an early age and answered the Lord's call into ministry in 1980. She moved to the Hampton Roads area in 1994. Prior to her death, Wilda was a member of Faith Deliverance Baptist Church where she served as an Associate Minister.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Marbley L. Jeter; sons, Lawrence Woods (Sandra), the Rev. Gregory Woods (Gloria) and Robert Copeland; daughters, Toya Arrington (Herbert), Genine Williams, Veda Frederick, Antoinette Morris (Charles) and Tarin Keith; brother, Conrad Saunders (Lena); 30 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
Homegoing services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at Faith Deliverance Baptist Church with Bishop Bennie L. Kingwood Sr., officiating. Burial will follow at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, Va. Viewing will be at the church on Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
