Annette, Michael, and Leslie,
Mom asked me to send off a note that she was sorry about Bill's passing and that her thoughts were with all of you. She also made the comment that she had lost one of her two only little little brothers, because she always thought of Bill and Dale as hers. Bill has a good and kind man, and I know my dad was very proud of both of his brothers, as I am.
Take care.

Annette, Angie just told me about Bill's passing. I'm so sorry for your loss. Really enjoyed knowing you and Bill. Take your sorrow to our Lord and he will see you thru it. Was too bad Dale couldn't have been there. Will say a prayer for you and Mike and Leslie.

Annette, Michael and Leslie,
I remember when Bill was home for a weekend from the Air Force, he let me use his Jaguar XK120 for Saturday night - that was an extremely rare car and it was very special to me that he allowed me to use it. Cars were a big deal for all three of us boys. I looked up to him as a big brother and he always treated me very well and took good care of me. As we grew older, we also liked to share in a martini or two when we got together. Although the miles separated us for our adult lives, we always kept in touch and I so enjoyed visiting all in Virginia and at our family gatherings in Seattle. God Bless and our thoughts are with you at this time. Take Care.

My first memory of Uncle Bill: He was VERY young, dressed in his uniform - home on Christmas leave, I think - and painting a model airplane in the farmhouse living room. I must have been pestering him for too long (I was preschool-age) because he offered to paint my nose airplane gray! Another time, he flew into McChord AFB and stayed the night with us - early '60's. Uncle Bill and Mom were talking in the kitchen, preparing dinner. I was tuning my violin for practice when a string snapped and hit me in the face. As I screamed with pain, Uncle Bill came running to my rescue and took such good care of me, comforting me until the hurt stopped. And he was such a comfort to my brothers and me when Dad died a few years ago. Bill was a kind and good man, and he lived a good life. He loved his family and spoke proudly of his children. My heart is with each of you at Bill's memorial service, and as you move back into your daily lives. You are not alone.
My love,
