Annette, Michael, and Leslie,
Mom asked me to send off a note that she was sorry about Bill's passing and that her thoughts were with all of you. She also made the comment that she had lost one of her two only little little brothers, because she always thought of Bill and Dale as hers. Bill has a good and kind man, and I know my dad was very proud of both of his brothers, as I am.

I remember when Bill was home for a weekend from the Air Force, he let me use his Jaguar XK120 for Saturday night - that was an extremely rare car and it was very special to me that he allowed me to use it. Cars were a big deal for all three of us boys. I looked up to him as a big brother and he always treated me very well and took good care of me. My first memory of Uncle Bill: He was VERY young, dressed in his uniform - home on Christmas leave, I think - and painting a model airplane in the farmhouse living room.
