WILLIE MELVIN FINCH WAS MY GRANDFATHER. HE WASN'T ONLY THAT BUT HE WAS A HERO A LEADER AND A PERSON WHO WOULD BE THERE EVEN WHEN YOU DIDN'T HAVE YOUR BEST DAYS. IT'S SAD BECAUSE AFTER I WAS BORN HE HAD A MASSIVE STROKE SO I COULDN'T DO AS MANY THINGS AS MY BROTHER GOT TO DO BEFORE HE GOT SICK. LIKE DRESSING UP LIKE HIM WHEN HE WAS IN THE SHIPYARD, HANGING OUT WITH HIM AND HIS BUDDIES,AND GOING OUT TO EAT AND TO CRUMB'S BAKERY EVERY THURSDAY. EVEN THOUGH I COULDN'T DO ALL THOSE THINGS BUT I STILL GOT TO SPEND 12 BEAUTIFUL AND WONDERFUL YEARS WITH HIM. IT'S SAD TO SEE HIM GO BECAUSE HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE LIFE OF THE PARTY AND THE ONE THAT IS ALWAYS TELLING JOKES. HE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN AND I WILL THINK OF HIM EVERYDAY. I LOVE YOU GRANDPA!!!

To the Finch Family
Doug and I were sad to hear about our dear friend Willie. We pray that in this difficult time, God will render peace unto you all. He was such a good friend in the time that we have known him. We love you all very much. We are sorry we did not make the funeral, we just found out about it on Sunday. Just rest in the Lord. I lost my dear brother last year, so I know how you feel. It is a great loss. But its Heavens gain. We know Willie is with Jesus. God bless you all.

TO THE FAMILY OF DEACON WILLIE "MELVIN" FINCH:
Elder Mary Jackson and the members of Jerusalem United Holy Church were saddened to hear of the homegoing of your love one, Elder Willie M. Finch. Through the years Elder Finch and his family visited with us on the first Sunday in August during their family reunion.
The Finch, Ziglar and Courts families are a vital part of Jerusalem United Holy Church. As a church family, we share your loss. Knowing that this family is rooted and grounded in the word of God assures us that you will meet Elder Finch again.
We pray that God will continue to give you strength during this difficult time. May the memories you all share help to sustain and comfort you in the days ahead.

I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the Finch family. I was one of his home health nurses and there was no question that the Finch home was full of love. The care rendered to Mr Finch indicated that he was very loved by his family and that his welfare was of the utmost importance to them. May God bless all of you. I love you and look forward to seeing you soon. I pray that you will experience peace and comfort during your time of bereavement.

To Eunice & Family:
My sincerest and deepest condolences to you and your family. You and Melvin and your family have always been an integral and vital part of our community for almost as long as I can remember. Melvin will be missed, but take comfort in knowing that he is rejoicing in the presence of The Lord.
May God continue to bless and strengthen you and your family and may The Holy Spirit continue to comfort you and give you all that peace that passes all understanding, in Jesus' Name.
Our prayers are with you!
