Dear Jackie, I am hoping you remember me. I have just minutes ago learned of Steve's death and it saddens me deeply. He was such a fine man. He and I use to have a great time raising hell at the old DPW in Chattanooga. I spoke with Steve several years ago. We spoke of keeping in touch as old friends do, but unfortunately it just did not happen. I regret that so much now. Steve was a great friend to me. I especially appreciated his wonderful sense of humor. Although I had not seen him in many years, I will never forget him. If you ever come back to Chattanooga, my wife Sharon and I live in Soddy Daisy and would love to see you.
My love and condolences.

Dear Jackie and Family,
Even though I haven't seen or talked to you in years, I have often thought of you and Steve. I recently came across a picture of you, Linda Pritchard, Gerry Robinson and me singing "Cross Over the Bridge" onstage at Spring Creek Elementary. It was either 4th or 5th grade, but I'm not sure which. I remember being at your house for your 10th birthday (it's been a while), and I always considered you one of my best friends.
I'm so sorry to hear about Steve. He was such a nice boy, and obviously 52 years of marriage testifies to what wonderful people you both were. I lost my husband 4 years ago, and the adjustment is very difficult, but I'm so glad to know you have children and grandchildren. They will help fill so many lonely times, and the Lord will always be there to comfort you.
I love you and all the good times we had together.
