Annie Chafin Obituary
Mrs. Annie B. "Anne" Chafin, 94, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2010.
Mrs. Chafin was born in Polk County, Georgia, on December 13, 1915.
She was married to Harry V. Chafin on March 15, 1935, and was preceded in death by him on February 24, 1978. Her husband was a Baptist minister and together they served the following churches in various capacities: Cave Spring/Dykes Creek, Decatur, Georgia, Opelika, Alabama, Brunswick, Georgia, Atlanta, Georgia, Hogansville, Georgia, Columbus, Georgia, LaGrange, Georgia and Madison, Virginia.
Survivors include one daughter, Becky Chafin Maimone, Rome; one granddaughter, and her husband, Catherine E. Davis and Brad K. Davis, Fort Myer, Virginia; and her pride and joy, two great- grandchildren, Hunter and Ashley Davis, also Fort Myer; three nieces and four nephews.
A service of worship will be held 2 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2010, at the chapel of First Baptist Church in Rome, where she was a member. A private interment will be held at East View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Anne has requested memorials to the W. S. Davies Homeless Shelter, 3 Central Plaza, PMB 198, Rome, GA 30161 or the Heyman HospiceCare, P.O. Box 163, Rome, GA 30162-0163.
