Anthony "Tony" William Rankin

Anthony "Tony" William Rankin, 41, of Charlottesville, died unexpected at his home on Wednesday, December 2, 2009.

He was born in Charlottesville on March 13, 1968.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Leafy Gladwell; and a sister, Tammie M. Dudley.

He is survived by a daughter, Toni Allise Rankin and stepdaughter, Brittany Camille Price, both of Buena Vista; father, William "Billy" Shiflett; mother, Betty R. Dudley and her husband, Larry, of Pamyra; three brothers, Jeffrey Scott Rankin and his wife, Barbara, of Buena Vista, Jerry Lee Rankin and his wife, Becky, of Scottsville, and Stewart Lee Dudley and his wife, Kim, of Pensacola, Florida; a sister, Theresa Darlene Rankin and her long time companion, Daniel Starkes, of Charlottesville; grandmother, Pearl Dudley of Charlottesville; eight nieces, Chelsea, Savannah, Dannecka, Datisha, Ashley, Katie, Sami and Brenda; three nephews, Phillip, Andrew and Anthony; Pastor and close friend, Sandy Kalso; and numerous uncles, aunts and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, December 7, 2009, at Living Stones Church, 1405 East Market Street, Charlottesville, where a memorial service will be held at 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions to Region Ten of Charlottesville or charity of choice in memory of Tony Rankin.
