Arlen E. Powell
Arlen E. Powell, 62, of Charlottesville, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2010, at his residence.
He was born on November 1, 1947, in Pontiac, Michigan, a son of the late Arzo Powell and Verta Collier Martin. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Powell is survived by his wife of 27 years, Patsy Powell of Charlottesville; one daughter, Kimberly Meadows and her husband, David, of Charlottesville; three sons, Ronnie Powell and his fiancee, Sonya, of Charlottesville, Michael Viar of Madison, William Viar and his wife, Chastity, of Schuyler; two sisters, Verna Ann Boggs and Mary Sue Morris; three brothers, Danny Powell, Doug Powell and Carl Ray Powell; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Morris-Viar; and a sister, Ollie May Carr.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Calvary Baptist Church on Avon Street Extended in Charlottesville.
Preddy Funeral Home of Gordonsville is assisting the family.

My sympathy and prayers for comfort are with the family.
I, (Buddy) worked with Arlen many years ago at Sears and Roebuck. I enjoyed working with him and have fond memories of him.
