Audrey Jones Obituary
Audrey Virginia Jones, 67, formerly of Albemarle County, departed this life on Saturday, November 27, 2010, at the Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland.
She was born in Albemarle County, Virginia, on May 30, 1943, the daughter of the late Lindsay R. and Ruth Washington Jones Sr. Two brothers, George R. Jones and Wesley G. Jones, preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Burley High School and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia State University and Master's from Trinity College in Library and Media Sciences. She retired after many years as Librarian in the Washington, D.C., School System. Audrey was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church from an early age.
Her survivors include a brother, Lindsay Robertson Jones III and a sister, L. Juanita Jones of Silver Spring, Maryland; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2010, at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Reverend Cass Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2010, at the J. F. Bell Funeral Home.

Audrey was a respected colleague and friend for over twenty years. I admired her zest for travel, hearing about her "insider" experiences at the Kennedy Center and sharing amusing stories about our students. I also admired her courage to persevere as a devoted media specialist despite her health challenges. My home will be one special holiday greeting card short this year. I think I'll display her card from last year. Please accept my sincere condolences.
