Thomas (Tom) Daniel Dubois died on October 28, 2025, in
Englewood, FL. He is survived by his wife Therese Blanchard Foy Dubois, three sons and their spouses (John and Mary DuBois, James and Susan DuBois, and Peter DuBois and Ben Bohen), stepchildren (Tom and Lisa Foy, Lynn and Ray Pion, Lori and David Yahne, and the late Lisa Dupuis and her husband Michael Dupuis), and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters Doris (Sr. Magdalene) DuBois and Jeanette Langevin and her husband Leo Langevin, and in-laws Therese Rougeau Robillard and her husband Raymond Robillard, and Napoleon (Nap) Rougeau and his wife Rita Fountaine Rougeau.
Tom was born in 1934 to John and Irene Dubois in the French-Canadian, Aldenville neighborhood of
Chicopee, MA. There he met his first wife, Jeanne Louise Rougeau (d.1988). They both attended St. Rose de Lima parish and St. Joan of Arc school. After marrying, the two moved to the neighboring town of
Enfield, CT to raise their family.
After they lost their first loves, Tom and Terry came together and lived 32 blissful years, inseparably together. They lived first in
Enfield, CT and later in
Englewood, FL, where they were active parishioners at St. David's Episcopal Church. They were regulars of the Englewood Moose Lodge, where Tom and Terry could be found drawing crowds on the dance floor a few nights per week.
Tom lived a rich life. After working at Spaulding's stitching football laces, he served as a mechanic in the US Air Force at the end of the Korean conflict. While working as an engineering assistant, he attended Holyoke Community College and Western New England College at night with GI Bill funding, and completed his BS in Mechanical Engineering. He spent most of his career working for Pratt & Whitney in their fuel cells division. He was part of the team responsible for the fuel cells used in the Apollo missions.
Tom was a man of faith and action. In the seventies, he was an active member of the Catholic Cursillo movement. He was close friends with many priests at the St. Alphonsus Redemptorist Seminary, where Jeanne worked in the library. In the 1980's he was ordained a deacon and served at St. Catherine's parish in Broad Brook, CT. After witnessing the value of home hospice care as his wife, Jeanne, died, he felt inspired to complete a master's degree in pastoral counseling at Trinity College in West Harford, CT in order to work in hospice. He worked for several years as a hospice counselor. In his retirement, he and his wife Terry spent many years volunteering with hospice organizations. Tom and Terry also spent countless hours volunteering at their church and in their residential community, Tangerine Woods, cleaning, painting, and beautifying wherever they went.
Tom will be remembered as a loving husband, father, Pepérè and Grandpa to his grandchildren and G-Pep to many great grandchildren, a friendly neighbor, a caring volunteer who was generous with his time, and a man of Christian faith who was slow to judge and quick to love others.
On January 3, 2026, at 11 a.m. his family will host a celebration of Tom's life at St. David's Episcopal Church, 401 S. Broadway St., Englewood FL 34223. Further celebrations will follow later that day.
