Beulah Deane Snow

Beulah Deane Snow, 96, of Ruckersville, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2010, at the Martha Jefferson Hospital.

Beulah was born on February 24, 1914, in Lydia, Virginia, the the daughter of the late Ben W. Deane and Maggie Rogers Deane.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Whitelaw L. Snow; four brothers, Ellis Deane, Roy E. Deane, Alvin Harris Deane and Aubrey Deane; two sisters, Ruby Bolling and Glennie Deane.

Beulah is survived by one son, W.L. Snow Jr. of Ruckersville, Virginia; one daughter, Phyllis S. Davis and her husband, Dr. Frederick C. Davis Jr., of Newport News, Virginia; three grandchildren, Cynthia Bennett and her husband, Tommy Bennett, of Hampton, Virginia, Lisa Davis-Lee of Ashland, Virginia, and Frederick "Erick" Davis II of Grafton, Virginia; seven great- grandchildren, Jessica Davis-Lee, Luke Davis-Lee, Beau Bennett and Arin Bennett, Mary Catherine Davis, Jonathan Davis, Frederick "Casey" Davis III; two sisters, Jesse Branham of Reva, Virginia, and Clara Herring of Charlottesville, Virginia; and many other loving family members and friends.

Beulah was a member of Stanardsville United Methodist Church. She was a farmer's wife who took great pride being a devoted homemaker and mother. Beulah was an exceptional cook. She will be missed by many.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at the Stanardsville United Methodist Church with the Reverend Catharine Guest and the Reverend Paul B. Davis Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at the Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, Virginia.

Ryan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
