Beverly G. Slayton

Beverly Slayton, 69, of Charlottesville, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2010, at Martha Jefferson Hospital.

She was born on August 14, 1940, in Butler, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ora Baldiga.

She graduated from Butler Area Senior High in 1958, and attended business school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Beverly worked in a bank as an Items Reconciler. She started with Union National Bank in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and retired from National City Bank after 32 years.

Beverly was a wonderful mother and friend. She had a great sense of humor, and you could always plan on having a good laugh when you were around her.

Beverly is survived by her son, Barry Slayton of Charlottesville.

A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at the First Baptist Church on Park Street with the Reverend Leon Castle officiating. Burial in Butler, Pennsylvania will follow at a later date.

The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 p.m. at the church.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 6808, Charlottesville, Virginia 22906.
