Cary Newman

Cary Newman, 67, of Charlottesville, Virginia, departed this life on Saturday, November 27, 2010, after a brief illness.

He was born to Thomas Newman and Charlotte Cary on July 26, 1943, in Charlottesville. He was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Newman; and his father, Thomas Newman.

Cary is survived by his daughter, Gloria Newman of Charlottesville; three grandchildren, Christopher, Fiona and Maya, all of Charlottesville; and a great-granddaughter, Nahla of Charlottesville. He is also survived by his mother, Charlotte Barbour of Gainesville, Virginia; a sister, Eleanor Barbour of Gainesville; a niece, Tiffany Barbour of Gainesville; and a nephew, Fred Newman Jr. of Charlottesville, Virginia.

A memorial service will be held at Oak Union Baptist Church 12 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2010, officiated by the Reverend Kevin Bolden.

J.F. Bell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
