Catherine Elizabeth Harris

Catherine Elizabeth Harris, 72, of Charlottesville, died Thursday, December 10, 2009, at her residence.

She was born November 1, 1937, in Fluvanna County.

Mrs. Harris is survived by her husband, Virgil Thomas Harris of Charlottesville; one daughter, Kathy Vogt and her husband, Robbie, of Gordonsville; one son, Bob Brittain and his wife, Mary, of Palmyra; two grandchildren, Adam Brittain and Jeff Brittain; a great-grandson, Gauge Brittain; a devoted stepson, Virgil Thomas Harris Jr.; a brother-in-law, James Harris; a loving and devoted cousin, Mary Walker; a niece, Lee Ethel Harris; a best friend, her dog "Mojo"; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Kay Brittain.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2009, at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Legacy Hospice, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
