Christine P. Beck

Christine P. Beck of Covesville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at her home.

She was born June 20, 1920, daughter of the late Elmer and Clara Pugh and was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel McKinnon.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, James Beck; her daughters, Sharon Bateman, Becky Agee and her husband, Ken, Linda Chen and her husband, George, and Jamie Beck. She also leaves six grandchildren to cherish her memory, Kristin and Lindsey Bateman, Jeremy Agee, and Sam, Ryan, and Sara Chen. She is also survived by her sisters, Alma Crawford and Beulah Webb; and her brother, Sidney Randolph Pugh and his wife, Florence.

Mrs. Beck was a lifelong member of Covesville Baptist Church and always appreciated the many acts of kindness from the ministers and members of her church and the Faith and Grace Christian Fellowship.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2010, at the Covesville Baptist Church with the Reverend Richard Dorman officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens.

The family wishes to thank friends and family for their cards, gifts, food, phone calls, and visits. Special thanks to Laura Carver, her beloved caregiver, and Nellie Pugh, Pat Pugh, Theresa Staton, Beverly McQuary, Donna Loney, and the personnel from Hospice of the Piedmont for their compassionate care. She greatly appreciated the visits and handmade prayer shawls from Susan Yesawich.
