Dennis Richard "Doc" Johnson

Dennis Richard "Doc" Johnson, 58, of Arvonia, died on Thursday, November 11, 2010.

He was born on January 5, 1952, in Buckingham County, Virginia, the son of the late Samuel Richard Carson and Rosa Belle Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Elinor Miller; a sister, Ella Louise Johnson; a brother-in-law, Welford Miller and mother-in-law, Margie Banks.

Mr. Johnson was an employee of the Lynch Roofing Company of Charlottesville for 37 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mary M. Johnson; a son, Marvin Randolph of Atlanta, Georgia; a daughter, Tracy Denise Johnson of Fork Union; a granddaughter, Shakira Brice; and a honorary granddaughter, Jasmine Ann Banks; four sisters, Gloria Miller of Arvonia, Connie Miller and her husband, Joe, of Bremo Bluff, Bernice Margo Armstrong of Charlottesville and Jo Ann Johnson of Dillwyn; two brothers-in-law, Sharion Banks and Melvin Banks Jr.; father-in-law, Melvin Banks Sr.; and a sister-in-law, Melissa Banks.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at the Frances Redwood Center, Route 15 North, Arvonia, Virginia. Interment will be held at the Highway of Faith Holiness Church Cemetery with Pastor Virginia Agee officiating.

Friends called at the Colbert Funeral Home in Bremo Bluff from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, November 15, 2010.
