On Sunday, November 22, 2009, Mrs. Elizabeth Lorraine Green went home to be with her Lord.

Mrs. Green a lifelong resident of Charlottesville suffered from severe diabetes and a heart condition.

Mrs. Green's love of life was evident in everything and everyone she encountered.

Mrs. Green's daughter, Dr. Brenda Elizabeth Rivera was her devoted caregiver. Her devotion was unmatched by her love, compassion and overall kindness. Mrs. Green was not only a mother to her only daughter, but she played a mother roll to many over the years in her community, too many to mention by name.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted daughter, Dr. Brenda Rivera; sister, Julia Rodwell of Ruckersville, Virginia; brother, William Bailey and his wife, Ann, of Lynchburg, Virginia; a granddaughter, Mrs. Sabrina Morrison of North Carolina; god-daughter, Brenda Barnes of Charlottesville, Virginia; many nieces and nephews; a host of family and friends; and her cherished devoted neighbor, Emily Wright.

A funeral service will be held 12 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2009, at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 211 Albemarle Street with the Reverend Dr. R. A. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the services.

Brenda & Judy,
What an amazing angel God has called home to be with him. Petie was truly an amazing woman. I have many happy memories of her smiling face, her wonderful sense of humor and her unconditional giving. What a legacy she has left for her family to remember her by.
