Evelyn McDaniel Obituary
Evelyn Lund McDaniel, 91, of Charlottesville, died on Thursday, January 7, 2010, at Rosewood Village.
She was born on August 6, 1918, in Batavia, Illinois, the daughter of the late Frank Lund and Anna Lindberg Lund. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Hildreth McDaniel.
She served in the United States Army Women's Auxiliary Corps during World War II and was a retired homemaker.
Survivors include a son, James L. McDaniel MD and his wife, Emily, of Franktown, Virginia; a daughter, Nancy M. McDaniel MD and her husband, William Bargh, of Charlottesville; six grandchildren, Elizabeth B. McDaniel of Richmond, Emily M. Kindt and her husband, Jamin, of Franktown, Hannah B. McDaniel of Richmond; James G. McDaniel of Richmond; Steven P. Bargh of Charlottesville and Dana C. Bargh of Charlottesville; two great-grandchildren, Alan R. Siff of Richmond and Lucas B. Kindt of Franktown; and a sister-in-law, Mabel Coleman of Coker, Alabama.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at Culpeper National Cemetery.
The family expresses grateful appreciation to Dr. Barbara Post and the staff of Rosewood Village for their professional and compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Alzheimer's Association, 1160 Pepsi Place, Suite 306, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
