Franklin Randolph Faudree

Franklin Randolph Faudree, 94, of Grassland, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at the Carriage Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center, Fredericksburg.

Born June 13, 1916, in Grassland, he was the son of the late John Frank Faudree and Maggie Crockett Faudree.

He is also predeceased by his first wives, Virginia Hitt Faudree and Winnie Davis Faudree; three sisters, Rosa Faudree Mitchell, Hardenia Faudree Coleman and Jane Faudree Honeycutt; and one brother, Marvin E. Faudree.

He owned and operated his own auto shop for a number of years and was a member of the Unionville Christian Church where he held many offices through the years.

He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Faudree Kent of Spotsylvania; two grandchildren, Kathleen Kent Fox of Spotsylvania and William Kelly Kent of Unionville; two great-grandchildren, Gregory Ryan Fox and Victoria Ashley Fox, both of Spotsylvania; one brother, Walter S. Faudree of Orange; two sisters, Philippa Faudree Brown of Unionville and Marian K. Faudree of Raleigh, North Carolina.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2011, at the Unionville Christian Church, with interment to be held at the church cemetery. Pastor David Williams will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2011, at the Preddy Funeral Home, 250 West Main Street, Orange, VA 22960.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mary Washington Hospice or the Unionville Christian Church.
