Gladys P. Booker
Gladys P. Booker of Charlottesville, Virginia, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 16, 2010.
She was born on April 2, 1951, to the late John Edward and Mabel Grooms Porter.
She was an employee of the Charlottesville School System and a faithful member of the Faith Temple Church.
She leaves a loving and devoted family to cherish her memory. Her husband, Walter Donald Booker; one daughter, Penny Miles and her husband, Dwayne, and their children, Lexus and Indonesia, of Charlottesville, Virginia; five sons, Thomas Porter and his wife, Randy, and their children, Candice, Terrence, Chakan, James and Clorshe of Charlottesville, Virginia; Jessie Brown and his fiance, Kerry Michie, and their daughter, Jemina Brown of Charlottesville, Virginia; Jimmie Brown and his wife, Pamela, and their children, Deandra, Tanasha, Kaila and Jennifer, all of Charlottesville, Virginia; Lawrence Brown and his wife, Cecilia, and their children, Devontai, Keyshawn, Montrell, Sadiq and Mekhi, all of Charlottesville, Virginia; Michael Brown and his wife, Jennifer and their children, Michael Jr., Landon and Kennedy, all of Charlottesville, Virginia; six stepchildren, Jermain, Don, Marvin, Lorenza, Antron and Devonte; and six great-grandchildren, and a host of other beloved relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Spring Hill Baptist Church with Apostal Louis Wright officiating. Interment will follow at the Grooms family cemetery at 250 Grooms Lane.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at the funeral home.
Services of comfort are entrusted to the staff of McClenny Funeral Services Inc.
