Timothy Gerald Deans, 67, passed away at his home on Friday, December 19, 2025. Born in Wayne County on June 17, 1958, he was the son of the late Kermit Samuel Deans and Frances Lynch Deans.
In addition to his parents, Timothy is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Robert Sutton.
Timothy is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Sutton Deans; children, Lindsay Deans, and Blair Deans Byrnside and husband, Brendan Byrnside; grandchildren, Mabel Byrnside and Amelia Byrnside; sister, Beth Bass of Charlottesville, VA; brother, Jeff Deans and wife, Kim of Wilmington, NC; mother-in-law, Rose Sutton; sister-in-law, Cathy Sutton; nieces and nephews, Stephanie Snider and husband, James Snider, Matt and Nick Deans, Jamie Larsen, Jeremy Sutton and wife, Crystal, Chad Sutton and wife, Stacy. Timothy is also survived by a host of great-nieces and great-nephews that he loved.
Timothy was a proud general contractor and the owner and operator of Deans Construction, a business he built through hard work, dedication, and integrity. He took great pride in his work and was known for his reliability, attention to detail, and the strong relationships he formed with clients and colleagues over the years.
Outside of work, Timothy found peace on the water, whether it was fishing, spending long days at the beach, or enjoying time on his boat. The ocean was one of his favorite places, offering him both adventure and calm. He also had a deep love for concerts and live music, rarely missing an opportunity to experience a great show.
Traveling and taking trips with his family brought Timothy great joy. He cherished making memories, exploring new places, and sharing laughter and experiences with those he loved most. Above all, family meant everything to him, and the time spent together will forever be treasured.
Timothy leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love, and unforgettable moments. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A time of celebration in honor of Timothy's life will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Seymour Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, with a time of sharing and remembrance at 6:00 pm.
