Jacob Meadows Obituary
Jacob A. Meadows "Uncle Jake" to many, 76, of Charlottesville died on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at his residence.
He was born April 5, 1933, in Rockingham, Virginia, the son of the late William H. and Viola F. Breeden Meadows. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Betty V. Wilson, Arbutus Schlag, George, Lee, Clarence, Henry, Ernest, James, and Lawrence Meadows.
Surviving him are his faithful dog "Precious Meadows"; two sisters, Marie Fisher of Louisa and Ann Teal of Lovingston; a brother, Russell Meadows of Fluvanna; his caretaker and special great-niece, Sandra Vazquez; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, who considered him a father figure; and many friends.
Jacob served in the United States Army in the 1950's and retired from the City of Charlottesville after 30 years of service.
He will be missed by many. This is not good bye; it's we will see you soon!
A graveside funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2009, at the Monticello Memory Gardens with the Ronald Nickell Jr. officiating.
The family expresses grateful appreciation to Dr. Michael Santulli, Hospice of the Piedmont, and to friends and family members for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Way, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.

May God comfort your heart at this time. Just know now that "Uncle Jake" has his glorified body now. For to be absent from this body is to be present with the Lord. (He's in good hands now!
