Joseph Guzi

Joseph Guzi, 92, of Aylor, died Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at his residence.

Born September 15, 1917, in Peekskill, New York. He was the son of the late Harry Guzi and Mary Fedor Guzi and husband of the late Madelyn Wait Guzi.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Ann and Patrick Fenerty; three brothers, John, Michael and George Guzi; and two sisters, Mary Reagan and Hellen Kaplan.

Mr. Guzi was a member of the Our Lady of the Blue Ridge Catholic Church in Madison, member of the Knights of Columbus-John Cempre Chapter in Culpeper and a former member of Precious Blood Catholic Church in Culpeper. He was a retired Steamfitter in the Washington area for many years.

He is survived by four daughters, Georgia Marie Jackson and her husband, Charles, of Hallifax, Brenda Hellen Lantz and her husband, Michael, of Ridgley, West Virginia, Stephanie Lynn Harouff and her husband, Wade, and Susan Elizabeth Morris and her husband, Earl, all of Aylor; one son, Christopher Joseph Guzi and his wife, Maureen, of Haymarket; one brother, Harry Guzi of Fishkill, New York; 16 grandchildren, Brian Fenerty, Peter Fenerty, Ann Brehm, Scott Jackson, Monica Gregory, Jonathan Jackson, Mitzy Kenny, Michael Lantz Jr., Miranda Shurer, Maria Walrond, Stephen Harouff, Megan Guzi, Gregory Guzi, Gail Morris, David Morris and Angela Cave; 10 great-grandchildren; special friend, Katie Frances Glascock of Evergreene Nursing Home and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2010, at Our Lady of the Blue Ridge Catholic Church, Madison, conducted by Father Michael Orlowsky.

The interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, January 1, 2010, at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel, Madison.
