Julis Pryor Obituary
Julius A. Pryor Jr. Julius A. Pryor Jr., 81, of Charlottesville, Virginia, departed this life on Thursday, September 30, 2010, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
He was born on March 3, 1929, in Staunton, Virginia, the son of the late Julius A Pryor Sr. and Lillian Jackson. He was the husband of Emma M. Pryor.
Mr. Pryor was a highly regarded local Insurance agent who contributed many years of service to the industry. He was a graduate of Burley High School and a United States Army veteran who served in the Korean War. He was a devoted member of Mt. Zion First African Baptist Church, a member of the Deacon Board and a participant in Bible study. His favorite pastimes were bowling and watching football.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Emma M. Pryor; three sons, Charles A. Pryor, Anthony J. Pryor and his wife, Reva, and Rodney M. Pryor; a daughter, Laura E. Pryor; two brothers, Joseph Pryor and William Pryor and his wife, Beverly; a sister, Margaret Johnson; 11 grandchildren; one great- grandson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at Mt. Zion First African Baptist Church with Dr. Alvin Edwards, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the services.
