Katherine "Kitty" Harding Harris

Katherine "Kitty" Harding Harris, 84, widow of Walter Harris, formerly of Saint George Avenue inCrozet, died Friday, November 27, 2009, at Augusta Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born on July 17, 1925, in Batesville, the daughter of the late Clarence Benjamin and Myrtle Layman Harding.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma H. Toms; and a brother, John R. Harding.

She is survived by her nieces, Rebecca T. Andrews and her husband, Stuart, of Lexington, North Carolina, and Patricia T. Smith of Charlottesville; and a nephew, Michael Toms and his wife, Linda, of Waynesboro.

Kitty graduated from Greenwood High School and retired from Acme Visible Records in Crozet.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW.

Family suggest, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Western Albemarle Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 188, Crozet, VA 22932.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2009, at the Anderson Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at Rockgate Cemetery, Crozet, with the Reverend Colleen Swingle-Titus officiating.

Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
