Kathleen Pritchett Garrison Tippett

Kathleen G. Tippett Kathleen Pritchett Garrison Tippett, 92, of Charlottesville, died on Saturday, November 14, 2009, at the Augusta Medical Center. She was born February 11, 1917, in Earlysville, the daughter of the late Mettie Melvin Pritchett and Cassie Lee Crenshaw Pritchett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Edwin Tippett Sr.; and a stepson, Michael W. Tippett. Mrs. Tippett was a retired secretary from the JAG School. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church and it's Sojourners. Surviving her are her son, Lawrence W. Garrison Jr. and his wife, Penny, of Waynesboro; two step-sons, E. E. Tippett Jr. and Walter W. Tippett; three grandchildren, Bryan Garrison, Cheryl Garrison, and Dean Garrison; two great-grandchildren, Autumn and Riley; and five step grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at the First Baptist Church on Park Street with the Reverend Dave Johnson and the Reverend Leon Castle officiating. Interment will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home. The family suggests that any desired memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church Early Childhood Development Center, 735 Park Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902 or to a charity of your choice.
